Art-based coaching & creative workshops · Toms River, NJ
I'm Hodaya Sheps. I'm an art-based coach. I help women in life transitions, teens, and children build confidence and practical everyday tools through conversation, clay, collage, and color. No art experience needed.

Hart Studio offers art-based coaching and creative workshops. It is not art therapy, psychotherapy, or counseling. Hodaya is not a licensed art therapist or a licensed mental health professional, and sessions do not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are looking for therapy or clinical care, please contact a licensed provider. Hodaya is glad to help you think about where to turn.
My approach
Sometimes it's easier to make something than to explain it. In our sessions we talk, set goals, and create with our hands. The artwork gives your ideas a shape you can look at, move, and change.
I combine coaching tools such as goal setting and practical skill building with hands-on creative work. The space is warm, non-judgmental, and paced by you. You leave each session with something concrete: a new idea, a practical tool, or a small next step.
Who I help
Divorce, rebuilding a family, single parenting, or a season of self-discovery. We work on confidence, goals, and a clear picture of what comes next.
Confidence, friendships, and school stress, especially for teens who feel boxed in by traditional settings. Art gives them a way in that doesn't feel like another lecture.
Playful creative sessions that build patience, self-expression, and pride in what they can make.
A creative reset for anyone who wants to slow down, try something new, and reconnect with their own ideas, at their own pace.
I also run small group workshops for schools, community organizations, and women's groups. I work comfortably within the Orthodox Jewish community and with single-parent families, in English or Hebrew.
Getting started
15 minutes by phone. You share what's going on and ask anything. No commitment.
We get to know each other, set goals together, and try a simple, low-pressure creative exercise.
Conversation and art-making, in person or online. Each session ends with one practical step for the week.
Every few weeks we review your artwork and progress and adjust the plan.

About Hodaya
For years I've worked with people at turning points. Since 2018 I've mentored and supported at-risk youth through guidance programs. In 2020 I founded a non-profit for divorced women, to strengthen their self-esteem and give them tools to grow out of crisis.
I hold a B.A. in Education & Society, completed 500 hours of visual arts training, and have studied art therapy. I am not a licensed art therapist; my work here is coaching. Everything I've learned points to the same thing: when people make something with their own hands, they begin to see themselves differently.
Hart Studio is a warm, creative, and inclusive space. You don't have to have the right words yet. We can start with your hands.

Questions
Not at all. We focus on the process, not the result. Many clients haven't picked up a paintbrush since grade school, and that's perfectly fine.
No. Hart Studio offers art-based coaching and creative workshops, not art therapy, psychotherapy, or counseling. Hodaya is not a licensed art therapist or mental health professional, and sessions do not diagnose or treat any condition. If you need therapy or clinical care, please see a licensed provider.
We meet by video. Before the first session I send a short list of simple materials, most of which you probably have at home: paper, pencils or crayons, glue, and old magazines.
Sessions are playful and hands-on. Children build, draw, and model while we talk about what they're making. I check in with parents regularly about goals and progress.
No. My practice is private pay, and payment is due at the time of each session. Reach out and I'll share current rates.
